Strawberry Applesauce


5 apples, mcintosh work best
1 cinnamon stick
1/2c water
10 strawberries, stemmed and chopped
1/2c sugar

peel and core apples, then chop into pieces. in a pan bring apples, cinnamon stick and water to a boul and simmer for about 15min or until tender. add berries and cook for 5 min more. remove from heat and mash or press through sieve into bowl. depends on how smooth vs chunky you like it. i just mashed with a potato masher. add sugar and stir until dissolved. chill until ready to serve.
